SWITZ CITY -- The Clay City Eels rallied back from a seven-point deficit in the fourth quarter to force overtime on a Will Kennedy 3-pointer, but fell 71-67 in a consolation bracket game at the Greene County Tourney on Saturday.

North Central's Donnie Abrams saw his first action of the year and made a difference down the stretch.

Abrams had a key block with North Central holding a one-point lead in the overtime and then scored at the other end for a 68-65 lead. The T-Birds then finished off the game at the free throw line.

The Eels opened up a double-digit first quarter lead before an 11-0 run by North Central got them within 17-15 at the end of the opening eight minutes. The T-Birds continued that run to build an eight-point lead of their own before the Eels closed out the half with a 10-2 run for a 30-all tie at the halftime break.

In the second half, Clay City played from behind, but were able to rally when it counted to tie the game at 62-apiece as regulation expired.

The Eels got 17 points from Jordan Defore and 16 from Kennedy with Kyler Rhodes contributing 10. Braxton Griffith added nine and Orry Heffner tallied seven.

The T-Birds placed four players in double-figures led by 12 from Derrik Enstrom and 11 from Dylan Walker. Both Abrams and A.J. Boyll had 10 in the eighth-ranked T-Birds' sixth win of the season.
