ROCKVILLE -- A special program, "Financial Crisis 2009: How Does It Affect Agriculture?" is set for Friday, at the Parke County Extension Office Meeting Room at the fairgrounds north of Rockville.
Purdue Extension and First Financial Bank are co-sponsoring the program, which begins with a complimentary breakfast at 8 a.m.
Reservations are needed by Wednesday by calling the Parke County Extension Office at 765-569-3176.
Purdue Extension Agriculture Economist Chris Hurt will explain the economic turbulence of recent months and discuss how it may affect plans for 2009 farming operations. Tight credit and volatile prices for both inputs and crops make the economic uncertainty and risk extremely high for 2009.
Farmers and others interested in agriculture are invited to attend the program.
