Raymond Paul McCall, 79, Rosedale, died 12:09 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at West Central Community Hospital in Clinton.
He was born Feb. 1, 1929, in rural Tangier in northern Parke County, Ind., to the late Clarence McCall and Pearl McCall. He was a retired laborer.
He attended Rosedale United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Brazil High School. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a life member of Brazil American Legion Post No. 2 and a member of the Brazil VFW. He enjoyed square dancing, fishing and spending time at auctions.
Survivors include his wife of fourteen years, Mary Montgomery McCall whom he married Sept. 2, 1994, in Clinton, two step-sons Jim Montgomery, Rosedale, Alan Montgomery, Trafalgar, two step-daughters, Charlotte Guthrie and her husband Harold, Brazil, Carol Brown, Rosedale, two sisters, Mildred Stewart and Marilyn Modesitt, both of Brazil, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, 287 Main St., Rosedale, with Rev. John K. O'Neal officiating. Military graveside rites will follow the services in Summit Lawn Cemetery, Brazil. Visitation will be 9:30-11 a.m., prior to service on Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at the funeral home.
