CARBON -- The boil advisory for Carbon residents was lifted Thursday afternoon.
Carbon Water Works operator Jake Raubuch notified The Brazil Times shortly before 3 p.m., Thursday, that state officials confirmed the water test samples have been cleared.
On Monday, a state mandated boil order was issued when the water pressure in Carbon dropped below 20 psi in the system because of water problems that took place during the weekend.
Officials reported a 2-inch water line broke, causing a slow leak over several days and the town lost use of its water tower Sunday. Freezing conditions made it difficult for water department personnel to locate the break, which was a main line located in a ditch of the outlining areas of town.
Although the water was shut off close to 11 a.m., the department managed to have it restored at approximately 4:25 p.m., Sunday.
