UPDATE: School canceled Friday

Due to ongoing road conditions within Clay County, Clay Community School Corporation will not be in session Friday.

woody....Surely you're not talking about the transformer incident at CCHS are you? I don't recall there being a fire in the school, but there was zero power. In addition, since the schools are all part of the same corporation, past practice is if one school closes, they all do. In some instances, it's a transportation situation. On the other hand, you and I both know that if the northern schools had to go while the southern were out......there would be some major complaining, and vice versa. Also, if it was summer, there wouldn't have been school the next day needing to be cancelled. As far as only the county schools needing to close due to the snow, you do realize how many county kids are transported to the city schools, don't you? But, the part I really don't understand about your reply is how is tacking on a day at the end of the year costing the tax payers more money?
