The Clay City Eels will host Class A Sectional 57 beginning with a Feb. 10 opening round match-up between the Shakamak Lakers and North Central.

The Lakers are currently 6-12 overall and have a 1-4 record against sectional opponents. The North Central Thunderbirds are currently 8-7 overall and have a 2-1 mark against sectional opponents. The T-Birds won the Dec. 4 game between the two, 51-40.

In the Feb. 12 semifinals, Clay City takes on fourth-ranked White River Valley.

The Wolverines currently sit at 14-3 and boast an 8-1 record against Class A opponents and are a perfect 4-0 against teams in Sectional 57. The Eels are 4-8 and dropped a Dec. 1 contest against the Wolverines, 67-42.

The second game of Friday night is the Union Bulldogs (11-6 overall) against the winner of the opening game between the Lakers and T-Birds. The Bulldogs have gone 2-1 against sectional opponents.

The Class 4A Plainfield Sectional will be one of the toughest in the state as three teams currently have just one loss.
