Elizabeth "Liz" Ann Moore Kouns, 35, Cory, died Jan. 30, 2009, at 2:28 a.m., at Union Hospital, Terre Haute.

She had been battling kidney failure and other illnesses for the past four years.

She was born March 1, 1973, in Plant City, Fla., the daughter of Marilyn Moore.

She was raised in Clay City and attended Clay City High School.

She worked at Bob and Angie's Restaurant and was a cook at the Country Junction for a time until she became too ill.

On Oct. 25, 2003, she married Stanley Wayne Kouns II. She and Stanley lived for a time in Lebanon, but then moved back to Clay County.

When she was younger, she enjoyed being out of doors, camping and fishing. She was devoted to her dog, Tiny, and her cat. She was a fun loving and beloved daughter, wife, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband Stanley Kouns, Cory, her mother Marilyn Moore, Clay City, grandmother Patricia Woollard, Clay City, mother-in-law Bonnie Kouns, Lebanon, sisters Maria Yates (Eric), Clinton, and Destiny Dyer (Todd), Clay City, sister-in-law Tammy Frazier (Bret), Lebanon, aunts Sandra Allen (Doug), Center Point, and Nancy Howald (Rod), Brazil, uncle Gary Moore (Donetta), brothers-in-law Karl Kouns (Dianne), Ivan Kouns (Connie), and Kenny Kouns (Lisa), seven nieces and nephews Attika and Jeramiah Dyer, Desire, Jaid, Kathleen, Athony, Eric Yates Jr., Little Kenny, Little Karl, Timmy, Ben Frazier, Amber, Johanna and Tamera, five cousins Nicole, Kayleigh, Nicholas Allen and Whitney and Brandi Moore, and special friend Jessica Gorby.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather Hubert Moore, cousin Kendra Allen, father-in-law Stanley Kouns I, grandmother-in-law Lucille Clinger and uncle-in-law Steven Kouns Sr.

Services will take place Wednesday at 11 a.m., at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Wiley officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 p.m., and again Wednesday prior to services.
