Alpha Omega

The regular meeting of the Alpha Omega Chapter of Delta Theta Tau Sorority was called to order at 7:15 p.m. on Jan. 20, at the First United Methodist Church's Traylor Hall.

The meeting was opened by Chapter President Linda Sheese with Delta Opening Ceremony and Delta Prayer.

The secretary called roll with 15 members present.

The minutes of the November meeting were read and approved.

Total bills presented for payment were $1,304.97. On a motion by Mary Brown, the bills will be paid. Diane made a motion to donate $25 in honor of our National President, Terri Shannon, to Delta Home Special Gift Fund. In later business, Dava Boor made a motion to donate $100 to "We Wish You Well", a program for senior girls at Northview.

* COMMITTEES

Geraniums- Michelle reported a delivery date of May 5 at Forest Park Pavilion. Order forms were available and need to be returned at the March meeting. They will also be at the Feb. meeting. Pots will be $2.75 and hanging baskets $18, the same colors as last year.

Taste Treat-Gayla reported that it will be April 25 at NCMS. Recipes are needed by Feb. meeting or email Gayla before then.

January Philanthropy-Jenny Ringo, Cindy Crowder, and Courtney Lash are taking care of the Humane Shelter.

* COMMUNICATIONS

Thank yous were read from Van Buren Elementary for use of the kitchen, Michele Arnold from St. Vincent Clay for ER sweats, Clay County Food Pantry, and Northview Band and Guard.

Next month's party group is Bonnie Boor, Lorna Gardner, and Tammy Ninesling. Philanthropy is Linda Sheese, Kristi Siples, and Heather McCullough. Bring food pantry items.

The meeting was closed with the Delta Closing Ceremony.


WASHINGTON TWP. CIRCLE CLUB

Washington Township Circle Club met Jan. 8, at 1 p.m. at Wilma Rich's home. Doris Romas called the meeting to order. Pledge of Allegiance and club creed was repeated in unison. Rosalind gave devotions "Meditations." Roll call was answered by six members telling a favorite snow memory. Secretary report by Rosalind, treasurer's by Doris, both approved. Brenda led us singing "Auld Lang Syne." Judy's Health and Safety lesson "Memory Menders" requires a good diet and exercise. Citizenship by Brenda was about White House pets. We voted on possible lessons for next year.

March 3-Council meeting

March 16-10 a.m. Leaders lesson will be given at Extension office

April 21-Homemakers Workshop 6:30 p.m. at the Fairgrounds

Wilma gave a very interesting lesson, "Versatile Vinegar". Handouts were given. Closed singing Homemaker's Prayer. Doris won the door prize. Martha McKenzie was also present.

Next meeting Feb. 12, 1 p.m. at Doris Romas' home. Martha will give the lesson "Clearing Clutter from Your Lives."
