Mildred I. Stewart, 87, Brazil, died at 8:55 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, at Clay County Health Center, where she had received loving care.

She was born June 25, 1921, in Carbon, as the daughter of Clarence Chester and Pearl Sutherland McCall.

Following high school, she married Roy E. Stewart March 27, 1938.

Mildred had been employed at Columbia Records in Terre Haute, Adamson's Laundry in Brazil, and she had also worked home healthcare and as a cook at The Pub in Brazil.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy on Sept. 15, 2006, sons Roy E. Stewart Jr., and Richard "Dick" Stewart, siblings Mildred Irene, Marjorie, Wm. Donald, Raymond Paul, Max Eugene, Virginia Rose, Evelyn, Kenneth Dale and Clarence Chester Jr. McCall.

She is survived by sons Terry Ray Stewart and wife Susan, Wabash, and Gene Stewart and wife Judy, Terre Haute, daughter-in-law Sheralyn "Sherri" Stewart, Brazil, sister Marilyn Glenn, Brazil, several sisters-in-law, grandchildren Kevin, Keith, Scott, Shawn, Heather, Chris and Kurt Stewart, and Kathy Neese, several great- and great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at Moore Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home with Pastor Eddie Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Bee Ridge Cemetery.
