He was born Oct. 12, 1920, in Pesotum, Ill., to Theodore L. and Mary Alblinger Ochs.
He first married Edna E. Powers Nov. 10, 1944, in Peoria. She passed away May 30, 1979, in Peoria.
He later married Blanche Young July 10, 1982, in Galesburg, Ill. She passed away Feb. 5, 1997, in Galesburg, Ill.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by sons Stephen (Phyllis) Ochs, Silver Springs, Md., and David (Patricia) Ochs, Pontiac, Ill., daughters Bernadette (LaMonte) Landi Vittori, Morton, Ill., and Kathleen (Stephen) Parkhurst, Washington, Ill., 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Ted was a foreman for 32 years at J.A. Fritch and Sons Sheet Metal, retiring in 1982.
After retiring, he managed a 24-unit apartment complex in Galesburg, Ill., for 17 years.
He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Force veteran, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.
He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria Heights, Ill., Sheet Metal Worker No. 1, Peoria, Ill., Galesburg Noon Lions Club for 14 years, American Legion in Galesburg, Ill., and a life member of D.A.V., Peoria, Ill.
Ted was a diehard Cub fan since 1927.
A funeral mass will be at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at St. Thomas Church, with Msgr. William Watson officiating.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, at Wright and Salmon Mortuary with recitation of the rosary at 6:45 p.m. Additional visitation will be 30 minutes before the mass at the church.
Burial will be at Resurrection Mausoleum.
