Roy L. Cassady, 89, formerly of Cloverdale, passed away on Feb. 14, 2009, at Regency Manor, Floresville, Texas.
He was born July 28, 1919, in Cloverdale, and was the son of the late Porter Marcy and Viola (Blythe) Cassady.
He married Bertha June (Boswell) Cassady Nov. 5, 1954, and she preceded him in death Dec. 11, 1976.
He was a retired press operator for IBM, Greencastle, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
Graveside services will take place Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at 11 a.m., at the Cloverdale Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
He is survived by daughters Jacklin Collier, Coolidge, Ga., and Rebecca O'Hern, Staunton, five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters Mary Rogers and Mable Wooden, and brothers Carl Clifford "Pat" Cassady and Paul Clayton Cassady.
