Breast cancer patients, survivors invited to event

TERRE HAUTE -- The Maple Center, Inc., Integrative Health and Maternity Care, 1801 N. Sixth St., Terre Haute, is inviting all breast cancer patients and survivors to a day of sharing and caring Saturday, March 7, at the Holiday Inn, 3300 United States 41, Terre Haute.

The Celebration of Life is a free program offering integrative/holistic health approaches to support healing and health.

The event will begin with registration and breakfast at 8 a.m.

Two breast cancer survivors will open the program at 8:45 a.m., with the presentations of "Celebrating Life," and "Appreciating Life with Humor."

Throughout the day, participants will have breakout session choices, including: Wordplay/Reclaiming Joy Through Poetry and Creating Journaling, Cultivating Support on Your Journey Using Collage: Drawing as a Healing Tool; The New You, Mary Kay Beauty Makeover; Wisdom Circle-Sharing Insight; Using the Internet for Group Support and Health Research; Nutrition-Change Your Diet Change Your Life; Tai Chi for Health-Breath, Balance and Mindfulness and Nurturing Yourself During Times of Stress and Recovery.

Lunch will be provided and will be followed by Dr. Kathleen Stienstra's presentation on holistic options for stress reduction and depression.

The event is offered by The Maple Center, Inc., and funded by the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Wabash Valley Affiliate with support by the Holiday Inn.
