She was born Dec. 8, 1935, in Clinton, Ind., the daughter of Jack Moore and Lorene Harris Moore.
She was raised in Knightsville and graduated from Brazil High School. On Oct. 1, 1954, she married John "Jack" A. Metz, Jr.
In her working career, Sue worked at Allis-Chalmers and CBS before landing as a secretary at the Clay Community School Corporation. She was first at Van Buren and then transitioned to the new North Clay Middle School.
Sue was a loving and devoted, wife, mom and grandma, and the center of their family.
Survivors include her husband Jack Metz, two sons Fred Metz and wife Lisa and David Metz, all of Brazil, two granddaughters, Jessica Metz and Sami Metz, her mother Lorene Russell, her sister Linda Sheese, Clay City, sister-in-law, Darlene Moore, Plainfield, brothers-in-law Jim Metz and wife Esther and Bill Metz, sister-in-law, Norma Nelson and husband Paul, aunt Mary Miller, Brazil, and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her father Jack Moore, one brother Ronnie Moore and his infant twin sister Patricia Moore.
Services will be held Friday, at French Funeral Home, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Dick McShanog officiating. Burial will follow in Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, from 4-8 p.m., and again Friday prior to services.
If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be directed in her memory to the Friendly Benwood Community Christian Youth Camp. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
