Letha Marquerita (Barding) McCullough, 93, Brazil, died at her residence Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, following a brief illness.

She was born in Versailles, Mo., July 16, 1915, to Nan and James B. Barding. Her family moved to Brazil two years later.

She was a lifelong member of the Berea Christian Church and loving and devoted mother and homemaker. In later years, she worked in the Office at Clay County Hospital until retiring.

She was preceded in death by her parents Nan and James B. Barding, brother Fred and his wife Margaret Barding Orville "Mitch" and Vallie Barding Charles "Jack" and Buelah Barding, a sister Adeline Barding Mishler Swearingen, a baby daughter Virginia Lea, and loving husband Russell V. McCullough and a son Tom R. McCullough, step brothers Roy Brann, Raymond Brann and a step sister Carol Brann Doyle and her husband John, step mother Jennett (Brann) Barding.

She is survived by a daughter Lisa Sue Reynolds and her husband Steven, 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, stepsister Pauline Kord and husband Keith, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Services for Mrs. McCullough will be at French Funeral Home Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Tom Hess officiating. Burial will follow at McCullough Stigler Cemetery.
