"A $5 donation allows courthouse employees to wear their casual attire, crazy T-shirts or fun clothing to work for the day," Clay County Prosecutor Lee Reberger told The Brazil Times. "We hope to have a great response from the employees."
The public is invited to stop by the prosecutor's office to make donations Friday during business hours to support the project.
Event organizers said donations collected during the fundraiser would be used to create scholarships to help ensure children can attend YMCA Summer Day Camp.
After such a dismal winter, Chief Deputy Prosecutor Kim Jackson said the unique fundraiser would bring some much-needed light-hearted fun to the courthouse.
"It's a tough economy right now, and this is a creative way for us to raise money for this worthwhile project that helps local children," Jackson said. "We're hoping to have lots of fun. It could get quite interesting around here come Friday."
