Most Americans have been experiencing difficulty making ends meet in the last several months. While many are cutting out extras such as eating out, buying books or taking vacations, many others are struggling just to put food on the table for their families.
Purdue Extension has put together a packet of information that will provide some strategies to make it through these tough economic times and hopefully, lessen the stress that so many are facing.
An emergency fund can be crucial in times of unemployment, layoffs, unexpected immediate expenses and increased prices from groceries to gas to power bills.
The packets were made possible through a grant from America Saves, an organization that encourages Americans to save. A limited number of the packets are available from the Extension Offices in Owen and Clay counties. Those interested may drop by the Extension Office to pick up a packet.
