He was born Jan. 17, 1934, in Indianapolis, as the son of John and Zoe Blacklidge Taylor. Shortly after his birth, his family moved with Henry and his twin brother William "Bill" to Owen County.
He graduated from Quincy High School in 1952. He was employed at PR Mallory in Indianapolis for several years.
He retired from Master Machine Corp. in 1997, after 17 years of service.
He was an avid country and western music fan. He took guitar lessons at Harlan Brothers in Indianapolis. He became good friends with Ernest Tubb and Bashful Brother Oswald. Ernest would invite him on stage to play a few songs while Ernest was playing theatres in Indianapolis.
He attended many Grand Old Opry shows and enjoyed visiting the Ernest Tubb Record Shop in Nashville, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Yvonne Dale Turner.
He is survived by wife Margaret "Margie" Taylor, daughter Teresa Gail Wolfe (Larry), Florida, twin brother William "Bill" Taylor (MaryLou), Cloverdale, step-children Carla, Dallen and Billy Hedges, Mary Hedger and Betty Kent, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, first wife Ruby Hatcher, nephews Tim, Dennis and Jon Taylor and son-in-law Harold Turner.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Thursday, March 5, at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m., Thursday, with Pastor Tom Baker officiating.
Burial will follow at Mannan Cemetery, Quincy.
