Local singers known as the P150 will perform at Harmony United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 7. Social time begins at 6:30 p.m., with the performance starting at 7 p.m. P150 stands for Psalm 150. Come out and join us.
Susie Pell had a new song for us to sing at church Sunday. Or maybe it was just one we hadn't heard for awhile. It was so appropriate for our thoughts of spring. The song, "All Things Bright and Beautiful" talks of gardens, tiny birds, mountains, and sunsets. It goes on to praise the Almighty for the senses to enjoy the beauty. Even though we were a little hesitant on the verses, it was a good song. Thanks, Susie.
Even though we have had several people out for several reasons, I always enjoy our Harmony United Methodist family. It is good to see the Maurer's, with their grown up sons, filling a pew. We rib them a little when they come in late.
As you look around the sanctuary, there are always couples that hold hands during the service, a wife with her hand gently rested on her husband's shoulder.
There are friends that always sit together on Sunday morning. Even though schedules don't allow them to visit much during the week, they enjoy that little time they visit in the sanctuary.
Grandma and Grandpa are still welcome here. We wish we had more children at the services but the folks that come are family. It is a good place to be. We have come for the message but there are other warm communications, too.
Congratulations to Dan and Nancy Pell's daughter on her new job. She will be at the Salon at J. C. Penny. Good Luck.
We've had so many people on our prayer lists in the last few months. Please say a few words for those who are ill/hurt/sad in your family or in your neighborhood. Even if you don't have a list, say a prayer. God knows who needs it.
A special hello and hope you are home soon to my good friend whose name starts with a D. She has been in the hospital for two weeks and wouldn't want any of us to make a fuss. I won't mention any names. A hug is sent to her husband for taking such good care of her.
John and Rose Marie Pell are home from Florida just in time to celebrate their anniversary. Hope it is a good one.
United Methodist Women will have a guest speaker from the Terre Haute UMW on Monday, March 30. The meeting would regularly be scheduled for the March 23, but several folks will be gone for spring break. All ladies are invited to attend at Harmony United Methodist Church.
Being an Irish gal, I am looking forward to March 17. Friends are joining me for lunch to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Arline Meyers, Sharene Wallenbrock, and possibly a couple more ladies are planning to spend the day in Harmony.
I am so looking forward to the visit. We have planned it twice and either the flu bug or the weather nixed it. Third time is the charm as Mother used to say.
Sister-in-law Karen and I started painting the sun porch on Tuesday. We talked on the phone this morning and both of us had new muscles that were crying in agony. Maybe it's not new muscles but old unused ones that were making their presence painfully aware. We both will need to work out our kinks to get ready for spring chores. Karen practically lives outdoors when the warm weather hits. I sure appreciated her help. She is an excellent painter. Thanks.
