The YMCA of Clay County and St. Vincent Hospital are partnering together to offer a four-part series on health promotion.
The first class was scheduled for Thursday and covered healthy eating habits.
There are three other classes scheduled for March 19, March 26 and April 2.
All classes will run from 7-8 p.m., and will take place in the YMCA Community Room.
The presenter of each class will be St. Vincent Clay Hospital Registered Dietician Traci Ray.
The topic for the March 19 class will be weight loss tips while the topic for March 26 will be reading labels.
The topic for April 2 will be the importance of exercise.
The health promotion series will take place in conjunction with the Team Fitness Buddy Challenge. The classes are free and are open to members and non-members of the YMCA.
In addition, the hospital will present "What You Should Know About Type 2 Diabetes," on Wednesdays during the month of April.
The event will take place from 6-7:30 p.m., on April 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, at the hospital's medical office building community room.
It is a five-week class that will provide general information about Diabetes as well as information on nutrition and the importance of glucose monitoring.
Class size is limited, but there is no charge for the classes.
