"We are honored to have such valuable and dedicated partners returning to lead the 2009-10 United Way campaign," United Way Executive Director Troy Fears said. "As Campaign Co-Chairs, Marla and Gary are committed to engaging corporate leaders and promoting local fundraising efforts to help us reach our campaign goals."
According to a press release, the United Way was "very fortunate" that DeHart and Morris stepped up to the plate this year.
In a joint statement, DeHart and Morris said, "We are committed to investing in our community, a place where we live and work. The United Way has endured a challenging transition to the 2009-10 Campaign Chair and because of that, we have offered to lead the campaign again."
With DeHart and Morris serving as Campaign Co-Chairs, the United Way was able to raise $1.9 million for the 2008 campaign, just shy of its $2 million goal.
Other accomplishments included developing partnerships with REMC, securing multiple volunteers and developing new special events, including Grillin' and Chillin', Dine United, Man Day, Bustin' Clays for United Way and Bid United.
DeHart is the Executive Director of Corporate Operations and General Manager of Clabber Girl Corporation.
Morris is president and chief operating officer of Clabber Girl Corporation.
