Busses available to join Eels at hoops regional

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

CLAY CITY -- The Clay City High School boys' basketball team will compete in the Indiana High School Athletic Association Class A Regional Saturday at the John R. Wooden Gymnasium, at Martinsville High School.

Clay City will face Jac-Cen-Del in the second game of regional action Saturday. Waldron will face Bethesda Christian in the first game, scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m.

Four fan busses are scheduled to take fans to the game. Cost is $3 per person and those interested in utilizing the busses are asked to signup in advance at the CCHS school office in addition to paying in advance.

Fan busses will depart from the high school parking lot at 8:30 a.m., Saturday. Busses will transport fans to a restaurant after the morning session and those interested in using the busses should bring money to purchase meals.

"Those driving on their own are welcome to join a caravan," Clay City Jr./Sr. High School Principal Jeff Bell said. "Fans are also encouraged to form fan blocks, honk, etc., on the route out of town for the team bus."

The team is scheduled to leave Saturday close to 8 a.m.

Officials are asking for everyone to be mindful and make sure the team bus can quickly and smoothly depart the school.

Tickets are on sale outside of the school office from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Cost is $9 and are season tickets for both games Saturday. Individual tickets will not be sold in advance but will be available at the door for $6.

The Regional Championship game is set to tip-off at 8 p.m., Saturday.

"Clay City will be taking its Pep Band," Bell said. "Sections will be reserved for the band and our students. There are no reserved seats."

The gymnasium will open at 9 a.m., and 7 p.m., for the games.

"Weather permitting, we will be hosting a bonfire/pep rally on the east side of the school building near the faculty parking lot Thursday from 7-9 p.m.," Bell said.

A pep session for the school student body will take place at 2:30 p.m., Friday, in the high school gymnasium.

Sectional championship T-shirts will be sold in the school office starting Wednesday. Cost is $12 and those planning to attend Saturday's regional are encouraged to wear the shirts.

Hey Eels...Congrats...I attended Clay City way back in 1953-55. My father was the coach in those years. I wish you well. Go get em! Jack Scott

"Busses available to join Eels at hoops regional".

Are the Busses good enough to join the Eels? Oh, you must have meant that busses were available for transportation.
