United Methodist Women will have a guest speaker from the Terre Haute UMW on Monday, March 30. The meeting would regularly be scheduled for the March 23, but several folks will be gone for spring break.
All ladies are invited to attend at Harmony United Methodist Church. President Sheila Termeer will be the hostess.
We have our last meeting of the Wesleyan study at Harmony United Methodist tonight. I have had to miss a couple of sessions and really hope to make this one. It has been a very good experience to learn about John Wesley, founder of the Methodist Church, and more importantly to work on spending more time in various forms of devotion.
Thanks to David Brinson for organizing the meetings and ordering the books.
I have fought those sniffles again this week and stayed close to home. That usually doesn't get me down sick but I just hate to be ole' sneezy around other folks.
Sister-in-law Karen and I discovered we could not reach the ceiling of the sun porch to finish the painting we started last week. We left the walls half finished and called the pros.
Jack Miller and his son came to the rescue. Karen and I spent two days doing three walls and the Miller crew primed the whole ceiling in two hours. They came back to do the finish coat the next day. That took about three hours and they were off to paint another project.
The professionals know how to get the job done. What was really disgusting was the amount of paint on those professionals. Five minutes after I pick up a brush, there is paint in my hair, speckled over my glasses, streaked up my arms, and swiped across my clothes.
Jack Miller had one little drop on one sleeve. I don't think there was any paint on his son. I thought about flicking a loaded brush at them but they had done such a good job that I reconsidered. Thanks, guys.
Now, Karen and I are back to finishing the walls, starting on day three of our chore.
I am hoping to have lunch on the sun porch when my friends come over on the March 17 if the paint smell has cleared and the weather is nice.
My sister-in-laws and I are off to check out places to have a bridal shower when Erin comes home. We have been checking around for a place to have it that has good parking and is easy to find.
Erin and Joey will be home on May 8 returning to Orlando on the May 11. It will be so good to see them.
Happy Birthday to Christina Jones & Brandon Shorter (17th), Albert Killion (23rd), Cheryl Brinson (25th), Anna Killion (27th), Coleen Thompson (28th).
