Norma Jean Biggs, 71, Plainfield, went home to be with the Lord March 11, 2009.

Norma was manager for Morris Shoes for several years.

Norma loved God and was a long-time member of the Church by The Side of The Road, 10323 E. County Road 100 S. (Morris Street), Avon, Ind.

Throughout Norma's life, she was a loving shoulder in which to lean on. Family and friends, whom she treasured, were with her in her last days.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Billy Joe Biggs and her parents, Charles Oliver Maurice Short, father, William Albert, step-dad, and Elnora Eileen (Craig) Lawry.

She is survived by her loving daughter Trina Kay, granddaughters Tracy Lynn Hartmand, husband Eric, and Jessica Ann Hall, brother Vernon D. Short, wife LaCretia, and lovingly adopted daughter Dinana S. Helmick, husband Ron, and daughters Rachel, Sarah and Melissa Helmick, granddaughters Savannah and Grace Helmick and lovingly adopted son David L. Powers, wife Celia, and daughters Charity Keenan, Bobbi Mace, Miranda Cumings, Kathryn Powers, Allyson Atwood and Emily Atwood, grandsons Jackson Mace, Joseph and James Keenan and Creed Carpenter.

Funeral service will take place Monday, March 16, 2009, at 1 p.m., at the Church by The Side of The Road. Burial will follow the service at Clearview Cemetery, Brazil.

Visitation will take place Sunday, March 15, from 4-8 p.m., at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center, Decatur Township, and one hour prior to services Monday.
