* Purdue University

About 8,500 Purdue University students earned academic honors for the fall 2008 semester.

To earn honors, students must have had at least a 3.5 semester or cumulative grade point average on a four-point scale.

Natasha Ann Barnett has been selected as one of the Top 100 students at IUPUI.

She is listed on the Dean's List by the School of Liberal Arts at Indiana University - IUPUI as outstanding academic achievement for the Fall 2008 semester.

A recogniztion dinner will be held on Friday, April 3 at The Marriott in downtown Indianapolis recognizing the Top 100 Students.

* UNIVERSITY OF THE OZARKS

Chinoah Pennington, a senior at Clay City High School, has been awarded an Achievement Scholarship to attend University of the Ozarks, beginning the Fall 2009 semester. Chinoah is the daughter of Paul and Tina Pennington. She plans to major in early childhood education at U of O.

At CCHS, Chinoah is treasurer of Leading By Serving (LBS) and is active in the Girls Athletic Association, Students Against Destructive Decisions, Spanish Club, and the Hearts Ablaze Youth Group. She is also active in a Gospel Band.

The Achievement Scholarship is worth $6,000 per year and is a leadership type scholarship based on participation in school, volunteer, civic and/or church activities and organizations.

University of the Ozarks is a four-year, comprehensive university located in Clarksville, Ark. It has been ranked by U.S. News and World Report as a "top tier" Southern Region University for the past 10 years.
