Marjorie Francis Crider, 87, Brazil, died Sunday, March 15, 2009, at Wishard Memorial Hospital, Indianapolis, following a brief illness.

She was born Jan. 31, 1922, in Posey Twp., Clay County, Ind., as the daughter of William and Clara Slack Penz. She graduated from Staunton High School with the Class of 1940. She worked for many years at Columbia Records, Meis Clothing in Terre Haute and Pells in Brazil. She was married to John B. DeWeese, deceased, and later married Lee Crider, who is also deceased. She was a member of Union United Methodist Church and a member of the D.A.R. and Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands, one son, Kenneth Wm. DeWeese in 1991, brothers William, Harvey, Harry and Fred Penz, and one sister Rachel Lehman.

She is survived by one son John DeWeese Sr., Brazil, one daughter Carolyn Bryant, Brazil, grandchildren, Herbert DeWeese, Johnna Robbins and husband Pat, John DeWeese Jr. and wife Lisa, Joseph DeWeese and wife Courtney, and Clay DeWeese, all of Brazil, Michelle Barnett and husband Bradley, Mooresville, Ind., and Jennifer Durbin and husband Jeff, Indianapolis, great-grandchildren, Michaela and Johnna Jean Barnett, Martin and Allison Biehle, Westin, Allison and John III DeWeese, Lori Robbins and Scarlet Durbin.
