Sipriana Bussing will celebrate her 80th birthday Thursday, March 26.
Mrs. Bussing was born in Ellsworth, Kan., to Jose and Jesse Rodriguez.
She is the oldest of 11 children.
She married the late John Bussing in March 1957.
They then began their family and with her husband's military enlistment, they made homes across the U.S., as well as Japan and Europe.
After her husband retired from the military, the family settled back in Brazil.
She worked at Columbia House Records in the late 70s and at Palmby Hardware until her retirement.
She and her husband could be seen at many auctions or at their own yard sales as well as their church, Annunciation Catholic Church.
She is still very active today, going to watch her grandchildren in sporting events, enjoying her clubs or working in her flower gardens.
Her children and grandchildren will host an Open House in her honor on Saturday, March 28, from 2-5 p.m., at First Christian Church, in the fellowship hall across from Long John Silvers.
Mrs. Bussing is the mother of five, Kirstin and Kip Kumpf, Brazil, Melanie Taylor, Chicago, Cecilia and Chuck Miles, El Dorado Hills, Calif., Eric Bussing, Mobile, Ala., and the late John Jr. Bussing.
She has eight grandchildren, Shawna Duncan (Dale Berry), Kyle, Olivia and Zachary Kumpf, Tavia and Sydney Taylor and Carlina and Spencer Miles.
She has two great-grandchildren Jordan and Jaidyn Berry.
She also has a very large extended family and many friends in the community.
