Louise L. Armstrong, 85, passed away March 25, 2009, in Ventura County, Calif., after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Pensacola, Fla., Oct. 9, 1923, the daughter of Henry William Grady Hart and Angela Riendeau Hart.

After her graduation from high school, she met and married Daniel D. Armstrong, who was in the U.S. Navy stationed in Pensacola, Fla.

After World War II ended, they moved back to Brazil. She was a devoted wife and mother to their three children.

She volunteered to work for the Democratic Party at the election polls and helped county the ballots in Brazil in the early 1970s. She was a member of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Brazil.

She was active well into her 80s. She and her family moved from Pensacola, Fla., to El Paso, Texas, in 1996, before moving to Ventura County, Calif., in 2001.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Daniel on June 6, 1974, granddaughter Captain Lynn Armstrong Reister on May 24, 2001, infant grandchildren Michael Taschner and baby Reister, brothers Richard Hart and wife Agnes and Henry Hart, sister-in-law Mae Hart, brothers-in-law Joseph Armstrong and William Armstrong, nephews Johnny Armstrong, Edward Armstrong and Walter Eugene Armstrong, and niece Frances Hart.

She is survived by daughters Norma Armstrong, California, Virginia (Ginger) Armstrong, Ohio, and her son George Armstrong, California, brother Roger Hart, sister-in-law Mary Ellen Hart, Pensacola, Fla., brother-in-law Thomas Armstrong and wife Ruth, Brazil, grandchildren Jeff Taschner, Mrs. Donna McCartney, Mrs. Lisa Baumgardner, Mrs. Laura Mailloux, Mathew Bickle and several great-grandchildren, Kevin McCartney, Triston Reister, Dystiny Rose Taschner, Pensacola, Fla., nephew Tom Armstrong and wife Lisa, of Brazil.

Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, Thursday, April 2, 2009, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Brazil, at 1 p.m.

Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery.
