TERRE HAUTE -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology students will showcase their musical, dramatic and dancing talents while telling the story of Dorothy and her pet dog, kidnapped by a twister and set down somewhere in the land of the Munchkins, in the musical, "The Wizard of Oz," set for April 30, May 1-3, and May 7-9, at the Hatfield Hall Theater.
The musical will be presented at 7:30 p.m., April 30, May 1-2, and May 7-9, with a 2:30 p.m. matinee planned May 3. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for non-Rose-Hulman students and youths, and free for Rose-Hulman students. Persons should call the Hatfield Hall ticket office at 1-812-877-8544 to purchase tickets. Reservations are required with seating being reserved. There will be no guarantees of a ticket without a reservation.
Rose-Hulman's 40-student cast features Megan Greenwell as Dorothy, Keith Amundson as the Cowardly Lion, Greg Neumann as the Tin Woodsman, Cale Snyder as the Scarecrow, Liz Ridgeway as the Wicked Witch of the West, Jarod Markley as the Wizard and Kendra Lyons as Glinda.
A large contingent of local children are also being utilized as Munchkins.
The play is being directed by Bunny Nash with Greg Stump providing expertise as technical director.
