The following is a list of upcoming events provided to The Brazil Times:

Senior Tribute

Northview High School seniors and parents are encouraged to reserve a copy of the senior tribute.

Cost is $3. Those interested are asked to bring money in an envelope with name on it to the NHS Media Center no later than Friday, April 17. Those who do not reserve a copy will not receive one.

Form notice

Clay City Elementary recently announced placement request forms for the 2009-10 academic school year are available in the elementary school office.

The forms must be completed according to the directions printed on the form and returned to the office by Friday, May 1, at 3:30 p.m.

In need of junk

The Brazil City Fire Department is still in need of old junk vehicles.

The fire department plans to use the Craig Park parking lot area for training sessions regarding vehicle extrication.

Habitat fundraiser

Habitat for Humanity will have a fundraiser at Pizza Hut, from 4-8 p.m., Friday.

All proceeds will be used to help finance a new home scheduled to be built in Clay City later this year.

Coupons may be obtained from any Habitat member or by mentionined Habitat for Humanity for each qualifying purchase.

Share Food Notice

Sign ups for Share Food will take place Saturday at First Christian Church, from 9-11 a.m.

The delivery date is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, from 9-10:30 a.m., also at First Christian Church.

Volunteers are also needed to help unload the truck at 8 a.m., and help during food distribution April 25.

Meditation notice

Those seeking a place where time is still, simple and stress-free are encouraged to come to Blue Moon Gifts Saturday at 4 p.m. for "A Peaceful Place -- Guided Meditation."

Those interested in attending are asked to bring a cover for their lap. A gifting basket to honor the "flow of giving and receiving" will be present.

The class will be facilitated by Life Coach Vicky Kelm Williams.


The Reelsville Fire Department monthly breakfast will take place at the firehouse Saturday, from 7-11 a.m.

The menu will consist of biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes and more.

Easter Bingo!

An Easter Basket Bingo event will take place Saturday, at the Dick Johnson Volunteer Community House.

The event will begin at 1 p.m. and conclude at 6 p.m.

Door prizes will be available.

Passion Play

The House of Hope, W. United States 40, Brazil, will conduct its annual Easter Passion play at the organization's facility Saturday, at 7 p.m.

Refreshments will be served following the play.

The Clay County Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Coalition will conduct a Town Hall meeting at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 16, at the YMCA of Clay County, 225 E. Kruzan St., Brazil, to discuss smoke-free workplaces for all Brazil workers.

Spottin' storms!

The Brazil Public Library will offer storm spotter training Thursday, April 16.

The event will take place from 6-8 p.m.

The free training event will include interpretation of cloud structure and radar images associated with severe weather.

Fish Fry!

The Clay County Humane Shelter will conduct a Jonah Fish Fry Saturday, April 18, from 4-7 p.m., at the Kennedy Crossing Bingo Hall.

Cost will be $8 for adults and $4 for children 12-under.

Hot dogs will also be served.

Big sale

The House of Hope, W. United States 40, Brazil, will conduct a giant yard sale Saturday, April 25, along with a fish fry.

A $5 donation will cover a platter. The sale will begin at 8 a.m., and last through the evening. Platters will be served from noon-6 p.m.

All proceeds will go to benefit the needs of the ministry.

Clay County Habitat for Humanity will sponsor a Jonah Fish Fry Saturday, April 25, from 4-8 p.m., at the Brazil National Guard Armory.

Price for adults is $7.50 while children ages 5-10 will be admitted for $5. Children under 5 will be admitted free.

All proceeds from the event will be used to help finance the new home scheduled to be built in Clay City later this year.

The Silver Sneekers, Humana Insurance and Brazil YMCA, will sponsor a Jonah Fish Fry, Saturday, May 2, from 3:30-7 p.m.

The event will take place in the Community Room at the Brazil YMCA.

Cost will be $7 for adults and $4 for children.

A bake sale will take place throughout the evening.

Tickets will be available at the door and from any Silver Sneeker.

Carry out will be available.
