The Northview Knights handed visiting Terre Haute South their first dual match loss in over a year by outlasting the Braves by a stroke, 144 to 145 at Forest Park Golf Course.
"It's a big win for us," coach Scott McDonald said of the Knights. "It's the first dual match (South) has lost in a long time. This is a big confidence booster for us."
The Knights got a 33 from Josh Hoskins for medalist honors followed by a 36 from Kade Baker, a 37 from Ryan Turner and a 38 from Mason Short and Brad Smith.
"We played all 14 guys and we had nine guys shoot in the 30's," McDonald said. "It's very good competition. We're probably two of the favorites heading into the sectional."
Austin Akers carded a 39 along with Drew Snyder, Dylan Moore and Jacob Musgrave. Dan Eaglin shot a 40 as did Byron Felchlia. Jarrod Short shot a 42, Larry Knight added a 45 and Jake Short had a 52.
Thomas Goss led the Braves with a 35 followed by a 36 from Jackson Jarvis.
The Knights host Rockville and Riverton Parke this evening at 5 p.m.
