Abbondanza event scheduled for May 30

TERRE HAUTE -- Those interested in the life of the party are welcome to experience Abbondanza from 6-11 p.m., Saturday, May 30, at the Ohio Building, 672 Ohio St., Terre Haute.

Tickets cost $55 per person and may be purchased by calling 1-812-232-6230.

Three floors of fun will be available at the event.

"The Big Easy" will take place on the main floor, sponsored by AP&S Clinic.

Those interested in attending will experience the soulful sounds of Governor Davis and the Blues Ambassadors from 7-11 p.m.

The loft of the building will feature "Rockin' the Night Away," sponsored by Terre Haute Savings Bank. Take a trip to Margaritaville, as the Shoes and Strings band performs from 7-11 p.m.

The roof of the building will feature "Life's A Beach," sponsored by Time Warner Cable. Put on a Hawaiian shirt, grass skirt and flipflops while enjoying Island Breeze from 7-11 p.m.

In addition, a VIP reception area will be available as the East Street Jazz Band will perform from 5-7 p.m. A limited number of tickets are available for corporate sponsors for the VIP reception.

Abbondanza is Italian for "abundant," meaning plenty of food and drink will also be available.

Past participating restaurants have included Ambrosini's, Beef O'Brady's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Carosi's Italian Restaurant, Cheeseburger in Paradise, Clabber Girl Culinary Courses, The Copper Bar, Fazoli's, ISU Dining Services by Sodexho, La Familia Di Jeshua, Mogger's Brewery, Patrick's Restaurant, Roly Poly Sandwiches, Stables Steakhouse, Saratoga, St. Mary's Supper Club and the Terminal.

An auction will take place at the event as well.

Past auction items have included themed gift baskets, autographed sports memorabilia, aerial photography of Terre Haute landmarks and college campuses, wine baskets, packages from local high school athletic departments, and packages from Indiana University, Indiana State University, Purdue University, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Ivy Tech Community College and St. Mary-of-the-Woods College.

All proceeds from the auction benefit the United Way of the Wabash Valley.
