Hippology team does well at state level

LAFAYETTE -- Clay County's 4-H Hippology team traveled to Purdue University in March for state competition.

Hippology is the study of horses and the competition includes judging classes, slides, stations, a written exam and an oral team problem.

Clay County was well represented at the state finals.

Novice Sarah Mann was 16th overall in the division while the junior team of McKenna Jones, Kascha Smith, Holli Jones and Chyenne Burton was second in the state.

As individuals, McKenna Jones was seventh while Smith was eighth and Holli Jones was 11th.

The senior team of Anna Hughes, Lauren Reberger and Hannah Stewart also placed 12th at the competition with Stewart coming in fifth as an individual.
