He was born June 17, 1952, in Brazil, the son of Wayne Whallon Sr., and Constance White Whallon.
He graduated from Clay City High School, class of 1972.
He was a farmer for many years and had also taken a heating and cooling course at Ivy Tech.
About 15 years ago, he began working for Bennett Truck and Transport, taking RV's, campers and fifth-wheels all over the U.S. and Canada.
Butch enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and he was known to be able to fix anything. He was a wonderful brother, dad and papa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne Whallon Sr., and Constance Whallon Lang, son David Whallon in 1975, and sister Susan Hassler.
Survivors include his daughters Denise Horn and fiancÚ Jason Richardson, Clay City, Connie Kelley and fiancÚ Richard Olson, and Susan Whallon, both of Indianapolis, grandchildren Alexandra "Allie" Miller, Andrew Horn, Kayla Richardson and Alisha Richardson, and one baby to be born in July, sisters Candy Foster, Bowling Green, Joyce Nees, Clay City, Penny Clevenger (Sam), Bowling Green, and Mary Wright (Steve), Clinton, several nieces, nephews and other extended family, and special friends Rita Thomas, Gwen Mildazi and Sue.
Services will take place Wednesday at 10 a.m., at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, Clay City. Burial will follow at Beech Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, and again Wednesday, prior to services.
