Carl "Bill" Loveall Sr., 69, Carbon, died April 24, 2009, due to complications following a heart transplant in November at the Cleveland Clinic.

He was born March 9, 1940, in Clay County, the son of James Arthur "Art" Loveall and Mary Jane Crabb Loveall.

On Feb. 17, 1961, he married Marcella Muncie Loveall. She survives.

He worked as a farmer and also at the Logan Clay Plant until 1980, when he had to retire due to heart problems.

In the past, he was a volunteer for the Van Buren Volunteer Fire Department.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting, camping and going to the Silver Sneakers group at the YMCA.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Marcella, Carbon, daughter Carla Chew and husband Kelly, Reelsville, son Carl "Bill" Loveall Jr. and wife Stephanie, Rosedale, grandchildren Dallas Chew and Breeanna Loveall, sisters Carolyn, Jewell and Patricia, brothers Larry, Ron, Jack Lee and Charles, many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Services will take place Wednesday at 1 p.m., at French Funeral Home, with their nephew Robert Muncie officiating.

Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 p.m., and again Wednesday prior to services.
