Olive Margaret Sumner, 87, Carbon, died at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, April 25, 2009, at her residence.

Olive was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Brazil, as the daughter of Lyle and Mary E. Thomas Reinoehl.

She graduated from Van Buren High School with the class of 1939.

She married James "Whacker" Sumner Oct. 10, 1947, in Spencer. James preceded Olive in death June 2, 2001.

Olive was a loving mother and homemaker who enjoyed making doll clothes for the girls in the family and being outdoors flower gardening. She was a member of the Tri-County Home Ec Club, Lena Good Neighbors Club and McKinley Hill Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Sumner, sisters Lois Ruth Willison and infant Letha Alice Reinoehl, brothers Wilber Reinoehl, Robert Lee Reinoehl and Leslie Grant Reinoehl, and infant granddaughter Erin Thompson.

She is survived by daughters Carol Allen and husband Mark, Brazil, Margaret Thompson and husband Randy, Brazil, Mary Koehler and husband Jeff, Center Point, and Cathy Mullinix and husband Mark, Brazil, grandchildren Todd Allen, Troy Allen, Hether Messmer, Alyssa Rissler, Simon Thompson, Valerie Smith, Ryan Koehler, Cleve Koehler, Adrie Koehler, Jenna Koehler, Micah Stemm, Emily Pair and Elliott Mullinix, 10 great-grandsons and eight great-granddaughters, sister Roberta Ooley, Brazil, brothers Phil Reinoehl, Dave Reinoehl and wife Louise, and Dean Reinoehl and wife Maxine, all of Brazil, and brother- and sister-in-law Raymond Sumner and wife Lu, Terre Haute.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 28, at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Thomas and Brook Reinoehl officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.
