35th Annual Spring Art Show in Rockville

Wednesday, April 29, 2009

Thirty-five creative years of this special show, plus forty-four years since the beginning of the Covered Bridge Art Association. The public is to come and celebrate this nice event.

Much of the Gallery's success has been due to the support of so many in the area.

Festivities begin today, from 6-8 p.m., with an Open House. Enjoy the refreshments, conversation with artists and it is free. Our Gallery has grown in many ways, such as the variety of art available. Among those are the oils, water colors, colored pencil, ink, graphite, pottery, photography, and jewelry etc.

The art work was judged earlier, but everyone has an opportunity to select their favorite. Door prizes have been donated. They include a water color by Marsha Garrison, an oil by Carol Nickey, and a colored pencil by Ellen Shaffer.

The Show was judged earlier by Brazil resident, Gail Roach. She taught art both in Brazil and Jasper for several years. She has degrees from both ISU and Master's from DePauw. She has worked in water colors, pottery and silver smith.

The Spring Art Show will continue through the end of May. All work will remain during the Show. Gallery hours are daily 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday 1-5 p.m. For more information contact the Gallery on the north side of the Square at 765-569-9422.
