Parade Forms Online
An entry form for this year's VFW Loyalty Day Parade is now available online. Visit www.thebraziltimes.com and click on 2009 Loyalty Day Parade Entry Form label under the "Forms" header on the left side of the page to enter and for more information about the event, which will take place Saturday, May 9.
The Brazil High School Class of 1964 is still seeking class members for its upcoming reunion.
No date has been scheduled for a reunion yet.
Class members are looking for Judy Hadley Sieglin, Larry Myers, Ruby Burton Murphy, Virginia Shaffer McMahan, Virginia Courtney Vance, Linn Alexander, Rhonda Grimes Ames, Carolyn Cox Lamber, John Archer, Jim Hartman, Bill Meyer and Ralph Roloff.

Members of the 2002 Northview High School graduating class may stop by The Brazil Times' office during normal business hours to pick up copies of their senior pictures used to create a special graduation section in the paper.
The Brazil Times is still accepting information for its Salute to Soldiers.
We are currently looking for more veterans to honor for past service.
To honor soldiers, stop by our office Monday-Friday, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Please include a photograph and a brief description of service.

Clay City Elementary recently announced placement request forms for the 2009-10 academic school year are available in the elementary school office.
The forms must be completed according to the directions printed on the form and returned to the office by Friday, May 1, at 3:30 p.m.

The office personnel at Jackson Township Elementary School will be available from 3-5 p.m., Thursday, to enroll students for the next school year.
Transfers outside of the school district may not be approved until next August depending on anticipated class sizes.

Historical Society to meet
The Clay County Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m., Monday, May 4, in the lower level of the museum.
The special guest speaker will be Arlene Meyers, retired teacher and world traveler.
Her topic will be "Place."
The public is invited to attend the monthly meeting.

Due to the potential for rain, the American Cancer Society's Bucket Shake/Roadblock in support of 2009 Relay For Life for Tuesday was postponed.
It has been rescheduled for 10 a.m.-5 p.m., May 4.
For more information about participating in this event and many more, attend the Team Captain Meeting at the Riddell National Bank Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
The Center Point Town Council will conduct its May meeting at the Town Hall at 1 p.m., Saturday.
Any interested individuals are urged to attend.
Loyalty Day activities
With a theme of "A Tribute to Our Newest Vets from Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan)," Loyalty Day activities will be celebrated May 9.
The Loyalty Day Services and Free Pork Chop Dinner for veterans and their families has been moved to the Brazil National Guard Armory. Activities will begin at 10 a.m.
There will be some giveaways, and a guest speaker (yet to be announced) with the veterans' pork chop dinner starting afterwards at approximately 11 a.m.
The Loyalty Day parade will be traveling eastward along National Avenue at 2 p.m.
As a safety precaution, the Brazil City Police department is requesting vehicles be removed from along the parade route before 1 p.m.
Christmas In The Park has scheduled a Jonah Fish Fry from 4-8 p.m., Saturday, May 9, at the Brazil Armory.
Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12.
Homemade desserts will be included.
Senior Education Ministries, Inc., will offer its third annual Fraud and Scam Awareness Seminar for seniors May 12, at the Vigo County Fairgrounds.
Registration for the event is scheduled for 8 a.m.
The event is set to conclude at 3 p.m.
Benefit for center
A scrapbooking event to benefit the R.E.I.N. Center Community Library, 700 Main St., Clay City, will take place from 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Saturday, May 16.
Registration is limited and there is a $10 fee to attend.
Lunch will be served at the event and local restaurants will provide discount coupons for supper.
Ample cropping space is available and beverages and snacks will also be available.
