Cassie Hood received a Gold All Star Ribbon and trophy at the State Bible Quiz that took place in Seymour. She scored a perfect score for the day. She is heading to Orlando, Fla. in June for the World Quiz. Cassie is the daughter of Erin and Joe Hood. We are so proud of her and wish her the best of luck in June.

We are so proud of our teens and their leaders as they participated in a 30 hour fast to raise money for starving children in Africa. They asked adults to pledge money for their fast. They raised $700 and that will feed several children in Africa as it only takes one dollar a day to feed a child there. The teens slept outside in card board boxes all night as many of the children in Africa have to do.

The teens who participated were: Whitley Ridling, Ashley Jones, Courtney Harrison, Jennifer Bullock, Stephanie Bechtel, Alyssa Hood, Alica Jett, Candace Timm, Chelsey Harrison, Linda Phipps, Josh Sparks, Jacob Bedsaul, Ian Bedsaul, Christina Helton, Jamie Paul, Haley Bechtel, girl's teen leader and Rick Finkbiner, boy's leader. Mary Sue Jackson, Wanda Raybauld, Pastor Bechtel and Teresa Bechtel were helpers. Thank you all, we are so proud of you. We wish to also thank the city for allowing us to close the street for the teen's protection.

Our Wednesday night Children's Service is going strong, starting at 7 p.m. This service is for all children in our community. If your child needs a ride please call our church, 446-0371, and leave a message on our answering machine no later than 6 p.m., Wednesday.

We wish to extend our deepest sympathy to member Jackie Andrews and her family. Jackie's father, Harold Maesch passed away this past week. Our prayers and love reach out to the Maesch family.

If you are looking for a friendly, spirit filled church, we warmly welcome you to join us. Our Sunday worship services are: 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Life classes start at 9 a.m. Please see today's church ad for times of other services. Casual dress is appropriate. God bless you all.

Congrats Cassie, and great job raising money.
