INDIANAPOLIS -- Paul Petersen placed 11th in the Indianapolis Mini-Marathon, Saturday, with a time of 1:08.35.
Petersen is a 1997 graduate of Southmont High School and son of Mike and Charlene Petersen, Brazil.
He currently resides in Logan, Utah, with his wife Stacy and son Seth.
Petersen has competed in more than 20 marathons and numerous other races. In 2007, he was 50th in the Olympic Trial marathon in New York City.
Other Clay County residents competed in the Mini-Marathon Saturday.
Nic Yocom, Brazil, placed 270th overall with a time of 1:25.03.
The top Indiana male finisher was Jeff Powers, Bloomington, at 1:05.07. The top Indiana female finisher was Camille Herron, West Lafayette, with a time of 1:16.54.
The overall race winner was Festus Langat, West Chester, Pa., with a time of 1:03.55.
