He was born July 28, 1936, in Terre Haute, the son of Andrew Grassick and Ella Grayless Grassick.
He served in the U.S. Army for four year.
On May 22, 1955, he married Shirley Counterman Grassick. She survives.
He retired from First National Bank. He attended the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Terre Haute.
Survivors include his wife Shirley, Clay City, daughters Connie Jackson and husband Marvin, and Tammy Bridgewater and husband Andy, all of Clay City, and Donna Tarwater and husband John (Steve), Terre Haute, sons David Grassick and wife Gloria, Dunedin, Fla., Tony Grassick and wife Sherry, Coal City, Randy Grassick and wife Michelle, Terre Haute, Keith Grassick and wife Tracey, Clay City, and granddaughter Heather Grassick Keller, whom he raised, sister Brenda Hendrix, Terre Haute, brothers Don Grassick, Jasonville, and Billy Carpenter, Georgia, and the joys of his life, 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew Grassick and Ella Grassick Carpenter.
Services will take place Tuesday, at 11 a.m., at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, with Rev. Bill Benton officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery with military graveside rites. Visitation will be Monday from 4-8 p.m., and again Tuesday prior to services.
