Sycamores take two of three from Wichita State

WICHITA, Kan. -- Joe Meggs went 2-for-3 and batted in three runs to lead Indiana State over Wichita State 5-3 Sunday.

The Sycamores (30-14, 12-4 MVC) broke a 3-3 tie in the fifth inning, scoring two runs to seal the game. Ryan Strausborger went 3-for-5 and Bronco Lafrenz batted 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Joe Rodriguez (6-1) got the win, allowing 8 hits and three runs in six and two-thirds innings. He struck out seven and walked one. Matt Shelton got the save, his fifth of the season.

Charlie Lowell (5-2) took the loss for the Shockers (24-22, 8-7). He allowed 10 hits and five runs in seven innings, striking out four and walking three.

Wichita State's Clinton McKeever batted 2-for-4, including a double while Ryan Engrav went 1-for-4 and batted in two runs.
