The following is a list of upcoming events provided to The Brazil Times:

Shot Clinics

The Clay County Humane Society will conduct two shot clinics in the upcoming weeks.

The first shot clinic will take place from 1-4 p.m., Saturday. The second clinic has been scheduled for 1-4 p.m., Saturday, May 16.

Both clinics will take place at the Forest Park Pavilion. Cost for shots is $8.

Book Sale

The Friends of the Library will conduct a book sale today and Saturday at the Brazil Public Library.

Those interested in getting their "summer reading" are invited to come to the library any of the days from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.


The Reelsville Volunteer Fire Department will conduct its monthly breakfast from 7-11 a.m., Saturday.

Fish Fry

Christmas In The Park has scheduled a Jonah Fish Fry from 4-8 p.m., Saturday, at the Brazil Armory.

Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Advanced sale tickets are $7.50 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12.

Homemade desserts will be included.

Book Week

National Children's Book Week begins May 11.

The Brazil Public Library will celebrate the event throughout the week.

There will be daily prize drawings. Children may also come in during the week to make crafts.

At 6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 14, families may come to the library to watch a Franklin movie and eat popcorn. Library hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Monday-Thursday, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Friday and Saturday.

The monthly ladies luncheon hosted by Edward Jones Financial Advisors Toni Carter and Lynsey Lunsford will take place at the Brazil American Legion May 12.

The guest speaker will be Ryan Cummins of the Apple House.

Cost for the meal is $9. All reservations must be made payable to and mailed to the American Legion by May 4.
