Letter to the Editor

Area organization issues thanks

Sunday, May 10, 2009

To the Editor:

Habitat for Humanity Clay County would like to thank Riddell National Bank, Terre Haute Savings Bank, Clover Signs and The Brazil Times for their publicity and First Financial Bank for their donations for our annual fish fry, held April 25.

We also wish to thank the community for supporting our event. Without this support, our events would not be a success.

Habitat for Humanity is a non-for-profit organization that helps families who can't afford to purchase a home of their own. The recipient family must participate in building their own home through "sweat equity," with family and friends. The recipient must also repay the interest free loan for the house during a 20-year period. The recipient will have a home of their own after the payoff.

Habitat for Humanity Clay County historically builds a home every two years.

We would like to be able to help more people more often. With the generous support from our community, that may be a possibility.

Thank you,

Rogene Morge, President,

Board of Directors,

Habitat for Humanity,

Clay County
