Knights and Eels pick up golf wins

Northview's golf team didn't play their best round at Forest Park, but still took a 149 to 151 decision against Terre Haute North.

Austin Akers shot a 36 to lead the Knights as Kade Baker and Jacob Musgrave carded a 37. Ryan Turner, Drew Snyder and Daniel Eaglin had a 39 followed by Josh Hoskins' 40.

In the JV match, Northview won a 157 to 163 decision led by a 37 from Jarrod Short and a 39 from Brad Smith. Larry Knight added a 40, Dylan Moore had a 41, Byron Felchlia shot a 42 and Mason Short had a 49.

Baker, a senior, was recently named the WTWO Golfer of the Year and will be honored on Thursday at a banquet beginning at 6:30 p.m. at The Holiday Inn in Terre Haute.

The Knights are scheduled to face Clay City this evening at 4:45 p.m.

The Clay City Eels were able to edge past Cloverdale's linksters on Tuesday night, 166 to 169.

The Eels got a 38 from Zach Boggs and both Braxton Griffith and Darius Farmer carded a 41 followed by a 46 from Austin Sinders.

The Eels are scheduled to face Northview at Forest Park today at 4:45 p.m.
