Martha Cox, 70, Staunton, passed away Monday, May 11, 2009, at Meadows Manor North, Terre Haute, following an extended illness.

She was born in Rocky Fork, Ind., Dec. 7, 1938, to Frank and Marie (Williams) Jones.

She attended Bee Ridge School. She married Robert Allen Cox Nov. 17, 1956. She worked at Coca Cola Bottling Company in Terre Haute, as well as for NutraWorld with her sister Wynona Wesley. She loved playing cards and computer games. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an active member for more than 40 years as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Marie, husband Robert Allen Cox, brother Herschel Jones and sister Wynona Wesley.

Survivors include children Cindy Carson, Wickenburg, Ariz., Roberta Cox, Staunton, and Dennis Cox, Tompkinsville, Ky., grandchildren Jamie Daniels, Wickenburg, Ariz., Bryan Carson, Terre Haute, and Cassie Cox, Staunton, great-grandchildren Deven Carson, James Deveney II, Jasmine Deveney and Hayden Bowles, brothers Frank Jones and wife Barbara, Wilburn Jones and wife Barbara, Floyd Jones and wife Brenda, Glenn Jones and wife Marge, Chuck Jones and Leroy Bridgewater, sister Opal Brooks and a large extended family.

At her request, cremation has been scheduled. Memorial services will take place Saturday, May 16, 2009, at 2 p.m., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2731 W. U.S. 40, Brazil, Ind., 47834.
