As part of National Law Enforcement week, three local officers were voted as the "Most Valuable Officer 2009" during the Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary dinner at the Riddell National Bank Friday evening. Selected from the Clay County Sheriff's Department were Sgt./K-9 Handler Josh Clarke and Deputy James Switzer, while Sgt. Dennis Archer was chosen from the Brazil City Police Department. Pictured are (from left) Clarke, Gracyn Switzer, 8, who accepted the award on behalf of her father who was unable to attend, and Archer.
