The following is a list of upcoming events provided to The Brazil Times:

Clinic set

The Clay County Animal Rescue will open a free spay/neuter clinic in July that will continue through November.

The organization will take 20 animals a week in the program.

The organization is also currently in need of dog and cat food in addition to cat litter, which can be taken to the Brazil City Police Department.



Capture those special birthday moments by learning how to scrapbook at the Brazil Public Library.

The library will host a beginner's scrapbooking class at 6 p.m., Thursday.

Kim White will instruct the crafting of two basic page layouts using various scrapbooking materials to get those interested in starting.

Cost for the program is $5 and pre-registration and prepayment are required.

Senior picnic

The Area 7 Agency on Aging and Disabled will conduct its annual Area Day Senior Citizens Picnic Friday, at Forest Park.

The event will begin at 10 a.m., in the pavilion, and conclude at 2:30 p.m.

The picnic is open to those 50-older and cost is $8.

Those interested in attending are asked to send check or money order along with form to Area Day Reservation, 1718 Wabash Ave., Terre Haute, Ind., 47807. No ticket costs will be refunded after May 13.

Fish Fry set

Berea Christian Church will conduct a Jonah Fish Fry from 4-8 p.m., Saturday.

The church is located at the corner of Billville and Waterworks roads, 1995 W. CR 800 N., Brazil.

Cost will be $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 10-under. The price also includes a drink.

Advance tickets may be purchased through the church office or available the evening of the fish fry.

Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department has scheduled its Memorial Day Pancake Breakfast for 6-11 a.m., Monday.

The breakfast will be served in the Community Room at the fire station, 1930 East County Road 600 North.

Freewill donations will be accepted with all proceeds going to be used to cover training and equipment expenses for the department.

The rescue center says it's in need of food. Why does it have to be taken to the police department instead of the rescue??
