Knights score win over Eels at Forest Park

The Northview golf team continued a busy week on Tuesday by taking a 161 to 174 decision against visiting Clay City at Forest Park Golf Course.

Jacob Musgrave earned low medalist honors by carding a 38 to lead the Knights followed by a balanced effort from his teammates.

Josh Hoskins shot a 39 followed by a 42 from Mason Short and Jarrod Short. Both Dylan Moore and Brad Smith each had a 44 in the win that improves the Knights to 10-2 overall.

The Eels got a 39 from Braxton Griffith to lead the way for Clay City. Zach Boggs added a 43 with both Darius Farmer and Austin Sinders shooting a 46. Kyler Rhodes had a 47 and Nick Johnson added a 53.

The Knights continue their week on Thursday with a trip to Sullivan and the Eels visit Edgewood on Thursday.

Monday

Taking on a difficult Hulman Links Golf Course, the Northview golf team struggled to find a rhythm in falling to Terre Haute North on Monday evening, 164 to 170.

Ryan Turner led the Knights with a 41 with Kade Baker, Drew Snyder, Daniel Eaglin and Jacob Musgrave all shooting a 43. Josh Hoskins added a 50.

In the junior varsity match, the Patriots came away with a 167 to 171 victory.

Mason Short led the team with a 41 followed by a pair of 42's from Byron Felchlia and Jarrod Short. Brad Smith and Larry Knight had a 46 with Dylan Moore shooting a 51.

The Clay City Eels placed second in a three-team match at the Sullivan Elks on Monday night, scoring a 196 to finish behind the host Arrows' 170. White River Valley was third with a 235.

Austin Sinders led the Eels with a 45 followed by Zach Boggs with a 47, Nick Johnson with a 51 and Darius Farmer shot a 53.

Medalist was Sullivan's Dreyson Boyd with a 37.
