Essie M. Lynch, 90, Seelyville, passed away at 7:34 a.m., May 21, 2009, at Union Hospital, following a brief illness.
She was born June 12, 1918, in Clay County, to Oris and Nellie (Whittington) Loudermilk.
She spent her life caring for her family and raising nine children.
She enjoyed watching game shows and working crossword puzzles.
She will be remembered as a feisty, fun-loving person who was always on the go.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Virgil L. Lynch, sons Bill Lynch and Larry Lynch, great-granddaughter Joslyn Lynch, and siblings Rosemary Maffioli, Audrey Maffioli, Dorothy Joslin, Gladys Rickard, Oris Loudermilk Jr., and Vernon Loudermilk.
Survivors include sons Russell "Rocky" Lynch, Seelyville, Dale Lynch and wife Jeannie, Terre Haute, and David Lynch, Seelyville, daughters Linda Siler and husband Gail, Avon, Sharon Crabb and husband Larry, Terre Haute, Debbie Neice, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Janice Lynch, Seelyville, grandchildren Lisa Siler, Greg Siler, Mark Lynch, Sam McKinney, Michelle Goodall, Russell Lynch, Joseph Lynch, Kathy McClain and Anthony Hedges, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Services will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2009, with Rev. Dana Coverstone officiating. Burial will follow at Harpold Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m., Monday.
