INDIANAPOLIS -- The Northview girls' tennis team left it all on the court against Roncalli at the Center Grove Regional on Tuesday night.

Though the Knights lost 5-0 to the Rebels, who defeated Northview in last year's regional, the individual matches were much closer than the team score might indicate.

Allie Melega and Marie Kegley played a tight match at No. 1 singles that culminated in a 6-4, 6-4 win by the Rebel. At No. 2 singles, Ali Rentschler fell in a 6-1, 6-2 match to Kati Austin and Hannah Pond dropped a 6-2, 6-0 decision to Alex Servie at No. 3.

In doubles play, Bonnie Froderman and Lauren Reberger lost to Roncalli's Maci Speer and Morgan Wells, 6-1, 6-1 and at No. 2 doubles, Kaci Khert and Allison Stearley lost a 6-2, 6-2 match with Kathryn Vance and Stephanie Gartrell.

The Knights finish the season with a 14-4 mark overall and bid goodbye to several seniors. Melega, Rentschler, Bonnie Froderman and Stearley all capped their careers at the regional competition.
